Dramatize employment programme
Young people with learning disabilities face many barriers to achieving any form of employment, especially paid employment, which is very disheartening. The opportunities available to adults with learning disabilities once they have left education are minimal so along with our other programmes Dramatize have created our very own employment programme.
Our employment programme aims to equip our young adults with the skill set and confidence to enable future employees to draw on the talents, expertise and experiences of our students. Our aims are to enhance the job prospects of our students by providing meaningful work opportunities within our own company with the end purpose being to increase our students employment possibilities and build upon their future aspirations.
Our employment programme will be based at our Dramatize Tea room based in Charlton Village, Shepperton. The programme will run from Tuesday - Friday 9:30am to 4:30pm. The 2 year rolling programme will focus its learning on team building, workplace safety, technology, maintaining employment, self - advocacy, health and wellness, money management and preparing for employment. The goal for our students is to support them to reach their personal goals, whether that be paid employment, a volunteer placement or to become more independent. Our employment programme provides real-life, meaningful work experience within our Tea room combined with training in work preparation workshops and independent living skills.
Our employment programme runs 4 days per week Tuesday - Friday from 9:30am to 4:30pm.
Each student will have personalised targets to work towards, supported by our staff team.
Please Note: If the individual already attends a provision, this does not narrow their options. Each young adult can use their Self-Directed Support (SDS) or other funding from their care package, to attend several provisions. We are happy to advise you on this.
