Pathway 1 - Creative Independence
Within Pathway 1- Creative Independence, each individual will work on their health and well being, social skills with other peers and out in the community, life skills and building upon their inner confidence.
The day is split in two, one half focusing on different art forms, the other out in the community. Our community trips vary from swimming (including use of a hydro pool), Gym, Sensory Rooms/Gardens, Trips exploring other art (shows, art galleries, performances), food shopping and other local activities.
On the course we will cover performing modules such as Makaton Signing, Zumba, Poetry, Musical Theatre, Yoga and much more. The modules are changed on a regular basis.
Below are a few case studies of our students who have excelled within our Pathway 1 - Creative Independence.
Sofia has been working hard on transitioning to our Pathway 1 - Creative Independence programme after not attending any provision for many years. She struggled with meeting lots of new people, but has now made new friends and has settled into our setting.
Leonard has been helping at a local cafe, serving drinks and snacks. He has been working on his social skills whilst out in the community, on how to greet and socialise with others.
These are just a couple of our students who have been working towards different targets in our Pathway 1- Creative Independence.
Each day follows a set timetable, building upon each individuals independence, like skills and knowledge in the arts, providing opportunities to perform in the local community.
Each student will have personal targets to work towards each year. Our staff work closely with parents and/or carers, holding review meetings to discuss individual progress.
Please Note: If the individual already attends a provision, this does not narrow their options. Each young adult can use their Self-Directed Support (SDS) or other funding from their care package, to attend several provisions. We are happy to advise you on this.
